There are various ways to remove unwanted and bothersome weeds. Applying Herbicides is one of the best methods that can kill pesky plants. Besides, there are other methods as well that you can follow.
Hand-pulling is one of the most commonly practiced ways. It is very effective for the herbaceous plant. Using this method newly emerged saplings of wood plants and trees can be removed. Here you should keep watch on newly emerged plants. Once you discovered the unwanted plants are sprouting, you need to pull out them instantly 'by hand'.
If you have the remaining of a tree, use a stump grinder. It happens now and then that we leave the remaining part of a tree when it is cut down. Consequently, it sprouts from the reaming part and grows with branches. Later it becomes a matter of headache. But when you use a stump grinder it not only kills the remaining part of the plants but also serves an aesthetic purpose. Although the procedure is costly to follow, but it is better than leaving an irritating things in your yard that might cause an accident.
Sometimes, it may happen that after cutting down a tree you have forgotten to grind it. Consequently, the plant continues to thrive. So in this juncture you need to apply cut stump herbicide to kill plants down to the root. Here you can spray different herbicide products like Brush-B-Gon, Roundup or Brush Killer on the cut surface to eliminate re-sprout.
Concentrate is another herbicide that is used for large areas which kills plants indiscriminately without any selection or preference. These herbicides are normally diluted with water before their use. They are used directly on the leaves of the plants.
When you are applying herbicides on plants there are few advices and cautions for you. Just have a look on them.
When you are treating a tree, you need to ensure that any sawdust from cutting limbs or trees should not be there where you are applying herbicides, because the sawdust can absorb herbicides. Then the sawdust will prevent you from treating the plant that you want to remove. It is batter to use herbicides to the stump or cut limb area as soon as possible. For in this way plant will suck up the chemical solution through its own natural reactions.
Some plants which have large swaths less than 6 inches in diameter are called 'basal bark'. So for them 'basal bark herbicides' are applied (they are generally oil soluble). Here herbicides are normally 'brushed' onto the trunk or bark of a tree; consequently the tree absorbs the chemical solution through the bark and gets killed. Here herbicides firstly kill the growing 'outer ring' of a tree then kill it.
